OUR BEGINNING



Café de L’Opera began with a simple passion: bringing the charm, flavors, and spirit of a classic French café to the heart of Downtown San Diego. Since our opening in 2008, we have welcomed locals and tourists alike and have earned a reputation as the most authentic & vibrant gathering space in Downtown San Diego. Our house-baked croissants are the staple of our connection to our community, and we are proud to remain a cafe that offers healthful and organic ingredients. What began as a love for French café culture has grown into a place where friends, families, locals, and visitors can gather, enjoy good food, and take a moment away from the everyday. With freshly-baked goods straight from our oven every morning, we welcome every guest that crosses our door for San Diego's best bakery experience.

Today, Cafe de L’Opera brings a little taste of Paris to downtown San Diego. Whether you're here for a ballgame, to see the Padres, a PetCo Park Concert at Gallagher Square, or simply enjoying Downtown, come join us for a hearty breakfast and lunch. Our brunch spot also offers an array of teas (caffeinated/ non-caffeinated) mimosas, wines, & beer. All taste profiles are welcome here - you have the choice here to sip on a cappuccino or sangria over breakfast.
